Real Simplicity Giveaway - and a Cleaning Link- up

Roses in my Parlour This Morning

I set the timer for 30 minutes. Then I rushed through my housework to see how much I could accomplish. I managed to vacuum the carpet, sweep the floor, scrub the kitchen counters and stove, wash all the dishes and clean the parlour. I even had a few minutes to set up pretty roses on the table.

Today is day 2 of my open house party. I have a great book to share with you. Then I will tell you how 3 of my readers will win their own copy! Finally, there will be a wonderful link-up all about cleaning! I can't wait to visit your blogs and read your cleaning tips and ideas! Are you ready? . .  Wait... did you clean your house first? (smiles)... Of course you did! Okay, read on!

The Book - Real Simplicity - Expanded Edition of - Making Room for Life - by Rozanne and Randy Frazee

Foreword by Max and Denalyn Lucado

Paperback - over 200 pages

Published by Zondervan

Pastor Randy Frazee was worn out and stressed by life. He described his life as a rat-race. Now most of us immediately think of living in the city, right? Yet we don't even realize that spending most of our time in the car for errands, commuting, and getting the children to all their classes and activities is the rat-race.

Randy and his wife, married for 29 years, kept thinking things would get better. They thought if they struggled through the hard times, life would eventually be less stressful. This idea wasn't working. They were burning out. Finally, they came up with an incredible plan to create real simplicity.

They describe, in detail, the lives of those in other cultures. These are people who have lived the same way for centuries. They do not have automobiles (limited mobility). There are no telephones (friends and family visit each other instead), There is no electricity (making it hard to stay up at all hours of the night being "productive" with work).  Frankly, what they describe is something most of us crave!

But how can we implement this kind of life in American culture? Is is possible to have a peaceful, simple life even if we keep our lights, cars and phones? I believe the Frazee's have come up with a powerful, inspiring plan to make it possible for all of us!

The book includes short sections for discussion and thought. You'll find a few recipes, plenty of stories and a realistic look at the beauty of living a Biblical, simplified life in today's world.
